why do gay people feel the need to state someone else is gay

Post by Hmph »

ESP when you don't ask or it HAS ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the topic???

say for example you're talking about a weather report someone anchor person gave, and a person who's gay has to tell you in an insistent manner that the weather anchor is gay, as if you would really care.

I have several gay friends that don't do this, but some people have to over emphasize that EVERYONE you mention is gay or bi-sexual even if married, which isn't possible. as in the whole world is living a deep seeded gay lie.

do I care that my weather man is gay or whether or not it's going to rain tomorrow??

I could mention Donald Trump's name and they'll swear he's gay or bi-sexual because one of their gay friends told them they were. and for the record, I don't believe **anything** about someone out of another person's mouth. I have to hear it from the person being rumored about directly, or it has to be a case of it if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it IS a duck. because I'm not wearing an inspector gadget outfit and looking for gay clues.

right now I'm looking for who HAS INTEGRITY and who doesn't and I don't care if they're purple, black, orange, or whatever. because whether they're gay or not means absolutely-friggin-nothing to me, because there's still the matter of integrity involved.

like the will smith/jada pinkett smith topic. this has not come from either of their mouths, but I'm supposed to take my blinders off and just believe that because joe-schmoe says it's true, it's true :o I don't think so. :shame: until I hear it from will smith or jada pinkett smith's mouth directly it's just a wishful thinking rumor because every gay man LOVES will smith because of his style, $$, etc.

 I guess.

I say it when I feel I want to say it. I have many straight females friends who used to feel basically the same as you. But after many conversations, and many eye-opening facts I've given them. They've become more knowledgeable upon detecting the signs.

You really would gag at the amount of people living on the low.

but how will that information help me personally? if i'm not sleeping with them, or their lifestyle doesn't provide for me financially in any way?

it's one of those things that go in one ear and out the other. I like to focus on inner qualities, THOSE go a long way and are the most valuable information to know.

for example: would you rather know if someone is gay and living with integrity towards themself and others, or a straight lying cheating thief who will kill their own mother if necessary? which piece of information is more beneficial to you?

I am a straight person living harmoniously as a minority amongst many many gay men. My neighborhood is literally called "Boystown". Up and down the section of Halsted Street in Chicago near my home it is very colorfully (and tastefully) decorated with Rainbow and Pride everything. I'm just used to it after a few years here now. The majority of the tenants in my building are gay. Some are really fun pals to have.

I'm just used to it and nothing that I see or hear shocks me anymore.
The only thing that does bother me is some of their needs to explicitly describe their sexual encounters - esp. when I don't ask them to. I'm all about them being confident enough to come out of the closet and be who they are, but I don't need to hear about their elicit adventures. My straight guy friends don't do this. But lots of gay guys do.

wow, sounds like the castro district of san francisco, nice area, but shocking seeing the photos of nude images on the store front for stores which distribute gay porn videos. otherwise, some of the best shopping in the city.

 and that is true, unless he or she is a prostitute or tramp, straight people don't feel the need to divulge every sexual detail about themself or others and don't display everything sexual in front of others as if "this is the norm" for everyone or how it should be.

this is why I'm having a problem with the "we want the same rights as heterosexuals too" issue, because I'm not seeing the same behavior as heterosexuals from a large amount of gay people. I see a variety of people all just doing their own and different thing regardless of how it affects themselves or others.

however, for a friend of mine, I'd be pushing for him to have same tax rights. he's like a brother, he lives his life with integrity, takes care of his dad, just enjoys his life and enjoys meeting all types of people for positive reasons. he's very smart and wise (yes there is a difference), and when I first met him at work, it didn't matter what lifestyle he had personally, nor did he in, everyone respected his work foremost.

I agree Tamra, I don't understand why they need to tell us that , should I really care about someone's sexual orientation? I mean if they want me to know, they'll tell me, but strangers, I don't give a sh!t.

When it's unsollicitated, what will it give me to know that, plus, how do I know if it's true?

Well if it poses a problem for you to hear their stories ... tell them you aren't listening to something you dont want to hear.

It's just that simple.

Homosexuals are people born the same way, and with the same rights, so why wouldn't they want to be treated equally.

but the point is to **first** be more respectful of those around you. being gay doesn't mean everyone has to first hear something you don't want to hear, but being respectful enough to ask "hey do you want to hear about my sexual encounters?" instead of just blurting it out right after "how's the weather?" :eh:

I'm strictly talking wanting tax rights by stating we're the same as others. that's all i'm saying, what is being stated in petitions around the world at this time
