In every civilization known to man there have been problems. Should innocent people now have to pay for the problems of their forefathers? I don't think so. I think that slavery was (and is) disgusting. When people say that there are no surviving slaves, it is of my opinion that they are ignorant and not cruel. When you mention the word "slave" in front of mal-informed people, they tend to think... you know ~ol' skool.

This country is going to hell in a hand basket. I don't think anyone should be paid for anything. How? Money makes it all better? In this country at least, the wrong has been rectified. After all, you can't control everyones feelings. Maybe this is easy for me to say because it wasn't me, but, let's face it... It wasn't you either.

Besides, in the US ~whites are the minority.

Also, (and I mean this with all due respect) There is a network call Black Entertainment Television, if there was a WHITE Entertainment television there would be hell to pay.

There are funds for BLACKS to get a higher education, if whites were to set up a similar fund to the EXCLUSION of all blacks ~whoa nelly!
(In fact, a young hispanic man set up a mere $50.00 scholarship where the only requirement was to be WHITE to test such a theory and lo and behold ~pissed off people~)

I'm not saying I want white, black, spanish, etc. to each be able to have their own, I'm saying that we should all be one and until we are, either we all get paid or none of us do.

looking at it that way, blacks have the advantages. and whites are a minority being overrun by blacks, spanish and others.

but can you name one black world trade leader, one black federal reserve chairman, one black british prime minister (the other country that flourished greatly from slavery, in addition to Spain), one black president of the united states, one world banking leader?

as for another example:
white people have NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX

(w/1 or 2 shows sprinkled in for diversity, but for most part 1-sided)
black people have UPN, BET, which is ironically watched by more surburban white kids. also BET programming isn't just for blacks it's to showcase programming that's OVERLOOKED by NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, the shows whites don't want to support

Miss America pageant was once a tradition of southern bell beauties representing deep hate and values of the south. in order to feel less like a jigaboo, black americans with clout decided to create a miss black america pageant -- by the way, where is the Miss Black America aired on NBC, ABC, BET, CBS, FOX, etc?

and why is that when blacks discuss race, whites throw in reverse racism. **that** is part of the division -- lack of understanding as to why the things you mentioned **exist**

and those little things will never amount to what was done for an extended period of time, for which the damage in some areas is ***irreversible**. perfect example: Deut. 28 and the longstanding misbelief that a particular race was enslaved in egypt, instead of those described IN detail in that chapter, which could explain why reverse racism is thrown out everytime there's an issue regarding slavery and civil rights movement.

knowledge would help when trying to understand the issue of slavery. and Deut. 28 is a good start. because if after you read that and can name any of the powers that be above that are a minority, then things are-a-changin', as in blinders have been removed

I'm not saying that all is right with the world and with racism. You, however, cannot cock block reverse racism by saying that people cry it whenever. Racism is a factor in everyday life. Reverse racism (God I hate that word because racism is racism is racism is racism) is a factor in everyday life. Gays get beat up fo being gay. the lonely 'brother' gets beat down by the swastika wearing retards. A white girl gets smack da F up for just so happening to go to an all black school. It's everywhere sweetheart. So no, I can obviously see that you are 10x's more knowledgable then myself when it comes to this subject of the past. But like it or not, it is the past in this country with very little residue remaining.

Whether we like it or not, all races are different. Perhaps it is that diversity that prevents ALL PEOPLE from my personal "Can't we all just get along" philosophy.

For example: Chinese people are madd smart and tend to come in droves. White people are all normal looking to your face only to create columbine-like chaos at the drop of a hat. Black people have the highest criminal rates of ANY race and populate the biggest portion of our prisons. Spanish females are crazy, and their men are nasty chick chasin' doggz .

Does the above speak for all people in those races? HELL NO! I've met black doggz, smart spanish people, and there's this one white boy I know that WILL shoot you for your sneakers.

My point is, life's not fair, the world is hard, all races suck at some point in time, and my knowledge may not exceed that of yours when it comes to slavery... but I am aware of what my children go through NOW. I am so aware in fact that it seems I have no time to worry about then. Accept it as history of course ~but, everyone needs to get over it and live for today.

Don't mistake me, I am spanish and Native American (does it matter?) . Tamra, you are a sister to me according to the bible, and I LUH YA GIRL!

I will say this: the dialog being opened here is good. There is a disconnect, but ironically not in the bedroom area for blacks and whites.

And I have to say both points of view are interesting to read.

But being black and being involved with someone who's half black/half dutch, I've learned first hand about history on both sides. And something definitely went wrong in the late 1600s and it's never been corrected or acknowledged, other than by 1 U.S. president. And even he was criticized for it.

The information is out there, but how can it be factually brought to both sides? Even companies directly involved will only listen and correct so much with financial records sitting right in front of them. Correcting means giving up comforts which is a fear for many.

But correcting for others came easily financially. That is a mystery. That further divides on both sides.

I really wish we could isolate and educate properly, but too late for that. But something has to be done on both sides. Or just leave things as is and let Bush run its course

The even twisted part is the bible/scriptures are used, but many don't even understand this. If there was an understanding we wouldn't be discussing this stuff now.

actually, you have The White House. and the one at the top rules all and makes sure you'll have whatever you need or won't ever be "left behind"

This topic is very interesting to me. Where else could I read about and learn about your views on such delicate subjects. I am of the white race.

None of us make the choice ourselves. We arrive on this planet and look in the mirror and learn and listen to those around us and hopefully learn to think for ourselves. Hopefully we learn more then our fathers and mothers before us.
But without your views, I would never know. I would never be able to approach a stranger and say speak to me my child tell me your heart and soul so that I may understand you.
