As of May 12th, I will no longer be at the Support Center....

We were outsourced...to IBM, which sucks, and since I've only been there for 6 months, I don't really get a large severance pay either....

Ah well, at least it gives me time to look for a new job....

SIKE!!!!

The REAL reason why I'm leaving, is because the Monday after Graduation, I will be working for a major IT consulting firm as an entry level Developer!!!! Which means, I get paid salary, do what I've been going to school for, and have a great opportunity to work with the latest in Microsoft technologies...

....Honestly, my heart is still racing, but yeah...and I still have to pass the background check (Which is no big deal) but I'm basically a part of the company!!! This is such INCREDIBLE news!!!! I still can't believe this is happening!!!! If this is a dream, please, PLEASE, don't wake me up!!

I can't believe you're graduating soon!!! you did it man and I know you're very happy.

and the job sounds like the best part of the payoff.

don't forget I get 75% of your paid salary - check the employment agreement closely. but look at it this way, I have to give 50% of the 75% to Don Diva Missy Kitti, so it's not all fun for me.

Yeah...but remember that 100% of that 75% that you get is taxed to the "Yeah Right" tax, and goes back to me

But seriously I'm so excited! More reason for me to work hard these last 5 weeks...man, this is so surreal...I'll just be glad when its all in writing!

I should also note that I got this job as a direct result of the career fair that my school had early last month...so if ANYONE doubts it, career fairs DO work!!!

oh I definitely know about career fairs. I hired several people at SteelEye through them. I was the only manager who reached out and hired from all sources to get a diverse group of skills.

the other managers w/not-surprising history of discrimination only hired by picking up the phone and calling one of their friends. un-friggin-believable. even more unbelievable is the asshat allowing them to do it wasn't even checked out -- he was about to be convicted for securities fraud and lied to get the VP position, as in didn't disclose he previously defrauded other investors.

Thanks! And yeah, everyone is pretty happy...especially since I just got my offer letter and all the official paperwork the other day (They overnighted it to me

I just let my current job know that I was leaving...I'll be taking a short break before I start...so I can study for my finals :-\

I 4 one think this couldn't have happened 2 a better or more dedicated person. The work nightmares you went thru b4 will b jokes of the past. & now you can write your own ticket.

and you'll do well for finals. it's what you've been doing all year, so think of it as just a wrap up of what you already know.

we'll negotiate the salary payout to Missy Kitti later.

for now just enjoy the results of hanging in there and putting up w/some crazy folks!
