Interracial dating

Post by Hmph »

Is it a problem to see a rich black man with a white woman? Given the common mentality of folks like Kobe Bryant who'll sleep with just about anything while married, should it even bother you if someone like that dates at all or even exists, let alone care about what race he dates/marries?

Who do you think is getting what out of the relationship between a rich black man and a white woman, yes, even if she's unemployed or working a low-paying type job?

You can't blame sisters for not being a part of their everyday world, because look at who it's set up and controlled by, thus there would be more whites than blacks. Or do you think a black man should truly take the time to find someone of all races, not just someone white "that he only feels comfortable with"?

Another situation is a common situation in California: at a black nightclub, there could be a table full of single, attractive, well-paid black women, but the brother only wants "Becky Sue" that he has to push past the sisters to get to. And the sisters don't even look at the girl he picked, but instead the black man, like "brother what is wrong with you?" and "why did you even come to this club?" I just assume people at nightclubs pick who they can sleep with easily first, or do you really think race matters?

And what is with black or white men or women claiming they can't date nobody of their own race? What's up with that?

Shouldn't it be about finding someone positive and self-respecting first instead of just focusing on an image to find first?

A lot of it is maturity and ego. Could be people they are around most. But how does that explain the white girl if more whites than blacks. How does she hook up with the only brother on campus? That's what I wanna know and the brother should be asking that same question.

Sometimes its just true love. But I hear most black men say they just wanna know what it's like to sleep with a white woman, and same for white girls. Like its magical or something. And in this case, the white woman is just a piece to jump on.

Now to hate your own race for dating. That is a serious problem.

i just think that it shouldn't matter ppl can date whoever they wanna as long as its for the right reasons though.. i find it annoyin cuz i have black girls always bitching at me cuz apparently i take thier men.. and cuz i hang out with 9 black guys they be like she hoggin all the men but they dunno that they are my brothers i love em to death we best friends.. they always tryin to start shit with me because of that.. race shouldn't even be an issue if u like a person for who they are your are with them to be with them not because they are of a certian race. :wait:

I agree. People should like who they want. But if people have to put down their own race to date outside of their race, that is a self-esteem or immaturity issue.

yeah thats true too... ppl tend to take things out of perspective and instead of lookin at the whole picture concentrate on lil irrelavent issues.

What about poor white men with rich black women? As a poor white dude, if I could just convince Beyonce or Tyra of just how right it would be... :sigh:

:lmfao:

OKAAAAY and 2 snaps up and a circle at that one!! it should be equal opportunity dating.

like if Bruce Willis phoned me, I wouldn't discriminate. or man, if Colin Farrell phoned, I just may have to take the curlers out for that one. I may be poor, but I can cook and Don Diva Missy Kitti can keep the neighborhood in order so there's less noise at night.

 well, I didn't understand much of that (deleted psycho boy's post) but I'll try and figure it out later.

but umm :lashes: Tyra has dated outside of her race before, so RangerBob has a chance, but just not with Oprah -- sorry, had to be blunt so you don't get your hopes up. also Beyonce grew up in Texas. interracial dating/integrated neighborhoods in TX is not common at all because of the still segregated schools and living environments, and much of the south, so her dating choice is going to be reflective.

Nicole Kidman probably wasn't a good example to use as well. she's from Austraila (well not sure if her bio is a lie, you know how Hollywood makes stuff up to appear more interesting), and also Tom Cruise is from Minnesota. I've yet to meet an Australian or Minnesotan who doesn't look at quality first.

I can easily see Tom Cruise dating whomever he feels comfortable with, in spite of "what hollywood required". also a large number of interracial couples exist w/in celebrity world than you know (Viggo Mortensen, Ron Perlman, Alfre Woodward, Heather Headley/Brian Musso, Robert DeNiro, Cuba Gooding, Derek Luke, Dr. Dre, Ice T, Taye Diggs, Ray Liotta, Kareem Abdul Jabaar, Bruce Willis (CALL ME!!! :D) and many more -- have $$ you can do what you want.) I think hollywood is only concerned more about gay actors and making them appear straight in films or for promotional purposes.

concern primarily is how someone hates their own race for dating purposes. or singles who are bothered by members of their race dating outside of their race exclusively. shouldn't they simply focus on their own issues and own values admired and find that person who fits those values? because the man/woman they're huffing and puffing about may not not be worth the headaches and bitterness. :sigh:

WEll, at least you threw the men in the mix. I was waiting on this kiddo.  Bruce Willis?? ookay, if that's your "attraction", more power to ya. I can assure you there is a message in my last first post. I am NOT interjecting a worm. lol

I don't know if someone would straight out admit "racehating." I would hate to take an individual poll on that. Yes, the value system IS the way to go. What I mean by values is NOT that both of you "believe" , for example that the races should should stay with their phenotypical similiarities. Or we hold on to our Bibles tightly and "believe" that the television set is the medicine man. There's ignorance in that. There has to be. And there has be enough importance in it that it won't break the rock of gilbralter in a serious ralationship, thus something that can weather the rough storms. You may believe no matter what, out of awarness of who you are, as a person, there has to be trust-as a value. No matter what. It's a foundation. (as it should).

Since children, we have been physically attracted to others more than intellectual or mental. We know that doesn't go away. But what happens when a persons goes counter of the racial imprint they were born into and hooked up with someone outside of it? Again, unless I've heard that individual talk about race resentment or racehating, it's not right to assume. At least to me. That's mental. There are also those out there in life who started off dating within their race, but life experiences change their attractions. Their experiences may be bad, like sexual assault. I can assure you in life, there's a percentage of white women of who have been raped by someone of their race and they went black or latino or "whogolly." You're not going to change their minds-especially, if they have already started having bi racial children. My basic message is that many of us carried some deep seated be it an issue, a coping strategy, a way to get the love they want. For some, it could very well as self hate. Or perhaps, the females of the same races does not find him attractive enough, like african american actor Yaphet Kotto, who said black women didn't find him attractive largely. Of course, he's going to go somewhere else, to increase his chances of enjoying life. Yes, we know how important attraction is in attracting the opposite sex. Perhaps a shrink knows for sure. Best thing to do is to respect everyone.

The last time I've had this conversation was with an african american woman. She had a lot of questions about black men dating out of their own race. Before that conversation was over, I found out she had a baby by a white guy, a short time fling, who didn't pay child support.

It's a complex question more than an issue to me..

Lastly, as for K-Ho & K-Ho, or Oj & Nicole, we know-born in the american culture-that it's very culturally dynamic, sells newspapers, coffee room talk of the nation, when a black male and a white female who had something going, short and long term and trouble happens. If K-Ho was black, the truth Kobe and her never would have made page one. And most reputable news "persons," like Larry King, will tell you. (and he put Court TV on the spot to admit it, too).

WE also know, in America that green money, no matter whose hands it is in, none of us are racist about that-Including K-Ho. Back in the separate but equal days, there may have been "color" water fountains and white water fountains. But, there never was black green money and white green money. No wonder the rich got richer. But that's for another post on another subject matter.
