important: we're being spam-bot'd

starting last night a bot posted a message advertising a series of links.

the idea is to post and then get indexed by the search engine immediately to advertise their fraud.

once they have the URL, they send out a script to other spammers to make use of it.

don't reply to those or if you're a mod, don't delete it, move it quickly to the spam Evidence forum and then when you get a chance notify me as I report this to several places: the registrar for the domain, the IP of the spam bot, and the feds for the organized crime site being advertised. so I need a print out of it as well as the IP info.

I will more than likely disable the Guest posting option, but I like to wait until they make a few more posts because by then they would have sold the script for money and then I'll block it. that way they're double screwed as given there's no honor amongst thieves, the person they sell the script to may go back to them

yeah I don't see it either. was it the one from last night perhaps? because guests definitely can't delete their posts.

i didn't think to take a screen shot or any other info from it b/c I assumed that once I reported it, it would be locked in for you to see.

yeah this is huge mystery because guests can't delete their posts.

maybe when it was reported it was accidentally deleted? unless someone else was online at the same time as you and they deleted it?

and it definitely couldn't be the one from yesterday at 6:30pm that I deleted.

but they'll be back again, sure of it. and only way to stop is to report them to other places. if it's legal stuff they're advertising they wouldn't have to go through so much nonsense.
