Hey, I got a couple of questions...is Linux supposed to move sluggish when dealing w/ file transfers from floppys and such? Because half the time it does for me...

And wouldn't you know it, while I was messing around with Linux, I flubbed my Windows installation...meaning: the drive is now un-bootable. Also meaning that I now need to re-install...just because there are some essentials that I still need..(i.e. Visual Studio 2003 .NET) soooo if you'll excuse me...

:lmfao: you're excused. you're still using floppys?

but nope it is not supposed to behave that way, however, you may want to check out a few linux forums to see if anyone w/a similar setup as yours is experiencing the same problem. because I had an external scsi floppy connector while using my first Linux install.

in fact i still have that laptop w/Linux and Windows and never had that happen.

if anything functions worked faster, maybe because it wasn't thinking about crashing just to piss me off

Yes, in this ONE case I have no choice but to use a floppy, its the only way to install the third party RAID Drivers during the Windows install...

And yeah, most of the time, Linux will take an extended period of time when accessing external media, but I'll have to look into it more...
