so I guess it just boils down to lack of common sense and integrity. because I'm sure even someone rich given a little extra help after Katrina probably put the money towards a hot stock or something materialistic. we just don't know that.

Yep, just read about that on the news myself.

The fallout repercussions are so devastating to those residents... from those who died or lost friends and loved ones, their pets, to the folks who lost everything AND pretty much the shirt on their back, the ones who had hardly anything and had it taken away, the ones who had to find a home in a new town knowing nobody, and those who have managed to stay, but struggle daily trying to keep their businesses open, or pay mortgages on their trashed, but salvageable homes while renting an apt. b/c they can't live in their homes due to obvious reasons.

While FEMA, higher forms of goverment, etc. are all at home with their cozy houses, family dog, wife, and mistress too, and sleep number beds and egyptian cotton sheets.

While plenty of warning was given to take preventative measures.
Nobody listened. And those who 'heard' tightened the reigns on their billfolds.

Not too fair, is it?
