Okay, as some of you may or may not know, my vacation just ended yesterday. After work today, I now need ANOTHER vacation, and here's why.
Originally, I was scheduled to have Fri, Sat, and Sunday as vacation days. Meaning, that I was supposed to have two normal days off in ADDITION TO those three days (Two for each week). Now, they had to credit both Fri and Sat back to me. Why you ask? Because they had me working for 11 DAYS STRAIGHT, and I had no other days off that week.
Now keep in mind that technically, I was still to have Sunday as a vacation day. With next week's schedule already posted before my vacation started, I was certain I would be fine, because I was off Sunday, Thurs, and Fri. But when I came back today I had an unpleasant surprise...a schedule revision that had me working Friday! At that point, I was pissed. FIrst I didn't get my two vacation days last week because they worked me into the ground. Now I only get one other day off this week because of a stupid schedule revision?! Hell no, I ain't standing for it.
The really, REALLY messed up part is that when others wanted a week or more, they got ALL their vacation, and their extra days off that they were entitled to. Me, I request vacation for three days, THREE FREAKIN DAYS and I STILL have to work myself into the ground. We have a new person now thats in training so its not like we're really pressed or anything...but this is ridiculous. I came in on my days off. I worked shifts longer than 12 hours. I've covered for people. I haven't called off ever since the start of summer. I've been at register BY MYSELF for at least 15 minutes a day EVERY DAY I'VE WORKED FOR THE PAST TWO MONTHS. I've taken all the shit they've thrown at me without blowing up. But I guess they really don't care. Even though they say, "Thanks for coming in." or, "We appreciate your help." they don't really mean it. Its a bunch of bull...I'm convinced of that now. I've been literally working my ass off all summer long and this is the thanks I get. "Oh gee, we're sorry, but we've decided to schedule you two extra days, is that ok? Oh but even if you say no, we're going to schedule you anyway because we're jackasses." Thats what I feel like their saying to me...and people wonder why I'm stressed sometimes or why I'm in a bad mood when I'm at work...its all because of these dumbasses that can't get their shit straight. I wonder what they're gonna do when I decide to put in my two weeks notice...I'm half tempted to just up and quit when I find another job and really screw them over just to piss em off...
But seriously, I'll be soooooo happy when one of these other jobs decide to hire me and I get say goodbye to retail for good!!!

umm join the club. but I'm gonna pull an overseas type vacation -- they just disappear, no phone, no nothing, nobody even know where they're at so they can truly enjoy the time off.
