lists cheapest gas in the chicago AREA. There is no cheap gas in the CITY.

Chicago currently has the highest gas prices in the nation.

$3.69/gallon for regular unleaded :omg: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(For any of you in the city, that price is at Marathon Station at 1105 W Grand, cheapest reported IN the city $3.49 @ Western/Fullerton)

Unfortunately where my job is located, using the CTA vs. driving pans out to be about the same amount of $$ due to several transfers, so I'll just drive, it doesn't take as long.

wow unbelievable. but I hope you're sitting down. prices will soon be 4.00 a gallon and more.

the rich will get richer. it's not like oil is dimenshing, the relationship between the oil haves and our politicians have become "cushy"

and notice who you DON'T hear complaining about gas prices

OK, i suspect a little bit of price gouging as the Chicago average for today is $2.953/gallon.

This is terrible. It is not only going to affect individual commuters, but Trucking/Transportation companies, shipping costs, and consumers. This is going to come full circle and end up hitting average joe commuter/consumer more than once.

yup, everyone, from school buses to pub transportation areas with buses alone.

I'm sure there are a lot of dusty ass SUV sitting on car dealer's lot now

and people are running to compact cars again.

well, don't wanna burst y'all bubble but in Quebec, gas is 1.12$ a liter that means

1 gallon = 3.78 liters = 4.233 $ a freaking gallon.

It's been crazy and canadians are not doing anything, guys, fight it because soon, y'all be like us.

I'm using public transportation, but that's just crazy for those with cars....

:omg: I would just telecommute. for many people they CAN telecommute to work and save money. companies should start allowing this for sensitivity reasons alone or start giving out gas vouchers!

somehow I knew once we got our hands on the oil over in Iraq, this would happen. it's been in the works for several bush generations.

I wish I could find the link, but this morning, i was reading on CNN a worldwide comparison of gas prices..... Amsterdam topped the charts at over $6 USD/Gallon, and Venezuela at the bottom with $0.12 USD/Gal.

I'm not trying to bitch about gas prices, i consider myself fortunate enuf to have a car and able to afford the gas to put in it - to get to where I need to go, that is, no major road trips here! But this is going to have some serious repercussions on the poorer folks who just can't afford to keep going.

did you say $0.12 as in TWELVE CENTS a gallon?

hell it might be cheaper and easier to fly to Venezuela with some gas containers, fill them up into the car for a few days relief!

or how about a long ass hose from Venezuela to here? is that possible????

I know, prices are soo high here and it sucks pretty bad.

BTW I know you are not complaining, but I understand you being upset over these crazy prices, I am and I'm not even driving.

I'm taking the bus( don't have a car) but even the bus's prices have increased because of that.
