Thank God you see things like I do.. Sad part is if those guns weren't legally registered in Mr. Ludwigs name, he'll never see em again. Well,,, he will but he will have to fight tooth and nail to get em back providing bolistics testing proves that they weren't used in other homicides or crimes.

It probably would have been better for the murdered couple to just approach the boys parents on the kerfew, and kindly discuss their concerns about their daughter, her relationship with the boy and the house rules in a family group setting.

I get the feeling that Mr. Ludwig's gonna need to sell those guns to help defray legal costs. What a shame. A collection like that would bring 50-100K.

It's very devastating to hear about the mother & father being killed over something trivial. The boy was definitely disturbed. Gun or no gun, it sounded like he would have done any harm to the girl's parents.

& I really feel sorry for the 14 yr girl. She probably had no idea about what would happen in her home. Her or her sister.

The fourteen year old girl looks mischevious to me but then again alot of 14 year olds are. Two families forever destroyed. I wonder who will raise her and her siblings.
And the poor Ludwig family is ruined for ever as well on this matter. They will lose everything over their psychotic hot headed son.
Seriuosly was he thinking, all the while he was driving over to her house with the gun, that he wouldn't get caught?
I read his personal blog site last night and he seemed to post articulate, well thought through messages, but there is something about the deer hunting photos on his blog that bother me. Only because I come from a family of healthy avid hunters.

The sad part is that every time some jack ass like him kills someone deliberately or with a stray bullet it takes away more rights from responsible gun owners .

My advice to Mr. Ludwig is this:

For God's sake, don't sell your guns to defend your son. He did the crime, he needs to do the time.

If my son did something like this (with or without the help of a girlfriend), my parting comment to him as I left the jail would be, "Hope you you like your public defender."

I've always loved Louisiana, My grandfather was a violin and piano maker there.
I remember as a tiny tot, I would sit in his shop and watch an enthusiastic musician arrive to pick up his instrument. Louisiana has really had some serious set backs that will take an entire generation to recover. And after watching what they lived through, with all the shoot outs, if it were any where else in the world all the insane nutty outraged screaming vile anti-gun activists would be lobbying their asses off.
But not in Louisiana, those folks know the importance of having a gun and they quietly absorb the pain of loss if a loved one dies by gunshot wound.
There's a certain grace that southern people have that can't be replicated any where else.
