Huh? What? Who?

I had posted this at fratpack, but i thought it would be more worth while here:

This site sucks and hoodwinks $50 from people thinking they are going to be "intelligently" matched with someone highly compatible to you. Here are some reasons:

-You can't limit distance any less than 50 miles. So even if you live in a city with 2.5 million people, you still get many matches outside of the city. So if you don't have a car because you can readily use public transportation within your city, you are SOL.

-You can't limit age of matches any less than they suggest. So If you're 27, beware, you'll get a lot of 39 year old matches, and alot of 22 y/o.

-You can't give height preferences. So if you're a 5'8 girl, they may and will match you with 5'3 guys.

-You can't preference if you want to date people with kids or not.

-You can't see pictures unless you pay.

-You can't delimit matches based on education criteria. So you could have a PhD and get matched with a highschool dropout.

-You have to go thru 4 bullshit steps before you can even talk to the person i.e. The site's criteria for 'getting to know someone" and bullshit questionnaires.

-20% of the people in their database are "unmatchable". So in otherwords, if you fall into that 20%, they are saying you suck!

-While they do not stress physical appearance for compatibilty, they DO try to match your photo with someone who looks like they belong with you. Hmmm.... I don't have a mullet, why would they think I want someone who does?


So if you're looking to meet that someone special, and want to do it online, You'd be better off using something like Yahoo Personals, Match, Lavalife,etc. You go after what YOU choose up front for a third of the price.

Miltie. but dang, that seems like a serious consumer issue. are all of these stated up front in the terms and agreements before you pay? if not you should contact your local consumer group, or atty gen for consumers to see if some people should be getting their $$ back.

I see their commercials all the time, but I also hear a lot of comedians making fun of them a lot.

I prefer that first glance type meeting. there has to be something interesting at first, and in some cases, that first glance could be something so memorable even 20 years later.

people online scare me. I keep picturing a troll, a satan-like looking creature, or THE serial killer of the year at other end of their keyboard.

mannerisms and other stuff matter too. like I have a really twisted sense of humor. so if he's rolling eyes right away, we can't hang! and I rarely even invite people to my home so meeting them online and then making a date with them, could lead to them following you home, with a whole new set of problems. not that someone you meet on street couldn't do same, but they don't know your name or info yet, so no interest, just move on, quickly.

Their commercials r on all the time & during primetime TV. Figured the company must b doing well to pay 4 ads. But I guess there is a sucker born every minute. I was even thinking about trying it.

Meeting people is a lot different now. You approach someone on the streets, they think U r hustling or gonna rob them. Don't like dating people I work with. U women r crazy!

& I don't like talking to unknown people online. I need to see them. Web cam intros r nice because u can see mannerisms & how person looks & sounds. But porn pushers have turned webcam into people thinking U r gonna have online sex with them. Can we just start with ur name, plz! & ur real name!!

It's no shade ... but I would never pay money to find a date. It's too much free ass out there.

Quick question: miltie ... did you pay for this service?

Yeah, i tried it for one month. I was tired of meeting the same old choads in the bars, so i thought i would give Eharm a whirl thinking there might be some intelligent folks out there, but it turned out the be the biggest waste of 50 bucks ever.

yeah but not all free ass is good ass. sometimes ya just gotta know when to say "no thank ya" to freebies. and paid for ass could mean better screened ass. (I think I've just offended about 25 donkeys. there will probably be a protest outside my window shortly )

And to answer your question "it's no shade" is a phrase meaning, what follows those three words isn't meant to be taken as a shady remark, (even though it may indeed be) ... it's just a way of saying ... take it how you like, but i'm still gonna say it ... LOL
