U know what we need - an Ask A Mod forum. I'm wondering if the board designers will fix the AOL issue. AOL changes your IP address every minute. So when I attempt to use the "View posts since last visit" it will only work once because the IP changed & forum assumed I logged out & in. It should be tracked by logged in & an IP exists. I've been dealing with this same problem for years. It took me 2 years to get the answer on why this was happening.

done. as in adding a ask mod forum. but the AOL issue is a pain. if something bad happens you can't track AOL users because the same IP's are randomly assigned. only a court order which will take months or up to a year will help find the culprit. you can't block by IP if they're an AOL user either.

unfortunately because of the way the board designers set it up to give users priviledges while logged in, IP was their choice. it's obvious they weren't AOL users or didn't involve AOL users in testing.

but for novice users like my aunt on another site who can't understand this, I have to keep reminding her to check the keep logged in option because her post will be lost when she clicks submit because she's automatically logged out after a couple of minutes.

oh lawd. i hate calling for any support. i had the blondest call the other day, my head was spinning from confusion. I wanted to go and dye my hair blonde just so I could interpret what the hell had happened

she kept giving me the wrong info to help. and i knew her answers were not right.

Yeah, you are right, the guy on the phone part ( bell) was a jackass, but the one on the sympatico part was funny as hell, an older guy and I was mad but he was understanding and he made me smile a lot. Gave me a credit of 38$ because I was over charged. But he gave it to me you know.
