CANTON -- A Stark County man was jailed Saturday on charges that he raped and murdered his 7 and 1/2-month-old niece.

Henry Anthony Sunderman, 32, of Canton, is being held in lieu of $2.5 million bond in the death of Zoey Sunderman.

Paramedics found the child unresponsive. She first was taken to Aultman Hospital, then to the intensive care unit of Akron Children's Hospital, where she died.

Investigators say Henry Sunderman cared for Zoey, her 7-year-old brother and 5-year-old and 2-year-old sisters in their Waynesburg home while the children's 26-year-old mother, Leslie Sunderman, was at work.

Zoey's siblings are in the care of their mother.

It is not yet known if they were victims of any kind of abuse.

Yeah, makes ya ill. We have a case like that going on here in Michigan, except this is an infant boy that died from an infection from the assault. There are some sick mofos out there. And, the person of interest is also a relative.

but the fact that he's sitting in prison being cared for doesn't sit well either.

he'd have to be underneath the ground you walk on to get to the prison for me to be satisfied.

and cowgirl, is that case still going through a trial? that's total

throw his ass under some concrete and call it a day!

they are still waiting on DNA evidence on that one before charges are pressed. the one that is in trial is the ricky holland case....adopted parents accused of killing him with a hammer. http://www.woodtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=4626154

How can you to a baby? This reminds me of something my friend Sin came across. She was a DFACs caseworker and she was called to the hospital in the middle of the night because this lady's 3 month old baby had her stomach pumped and all they found was sperm. The woman took her baby in cause she wouldn't eat and had a fever. Why do that to a baby? The mother was arrested because she went off and assualted her boyfriend right then and there. Sin cried for a week about that she didn't want to take the baby because the mom honestly didn't know but she had too.

or worse, they're one of the ones who just don't care and can't wait to punch out for the day. sometimes they've been doing the same for so long, it becomes numb to them.

but I still say prison is too nice for the person who harmed the child.

but, my bad, we should be like JGirl and hug a pedophile!

yeah I'll hug 'em until the life is squeezed out of them.
