Thank you Tam you explained it better than I could have. That is a true southern statement that I didn't think about using. I apoligize for any misunderstandings that me saying that might have caused. I was just fed up with the media's attention on a child molester marrying her victim.

yeah because the statement caught my eye but not immediately. but then I remember things like this:
http://tam-ra.us/workitout/viewtopic.php?t=1436

where on The Boondocks, the first line of one show was "niggas are crazy" and it was a show about Nigga Moments

plus the other thing to keep in mind is not everyone here is from the U.S. and general statements look just like that - general.

but you should have been here when we got called anti-semitic for having a post about Charles Lindbergh

I don't see how this news tidbit has anything to do with race  but I just skimmed the article.

What it DOES have to do with is basic human sociological/psychological issues.

I don't care what the hell color you are, why in the HELL(O) does any 30-something in her right mind want to do with a 15 year old boy?????? I guess "Right Mind" are the operative words here.

Unless she is a virgin, she must not have been having any good sex up until her 30's if she actually wants to be with a little boy who prolly barely knows where to stick or or what to do with it once he has!!! :noway:

but also the media has given this woman more attention than she deserves. they're giving her respect and air time to explain her story. I know the boy's grandmother doesn't want to hear her side :hand:

can you see Joseph Duncan a free man now sitting down calmly after being flown around the country at networks' expense to explain why he raped an 8 year old girl and killed her brother?

and then being allowed to marry Shasta and send her packages while under a court order to not have any contact.

most that should have happened is while she was coming out of booking was shove a camera in her face, take a photo and move on.

there is definitely a double-standard here, and the media needs to stop glorifying when women do this type of shit.

there have been so many jokes about the "hot" school teacher from Florida sleeping w/her students. what if he was a good looking man sleeping w/underaged girls?

Oh I definitely agree. I just think it's more of a "Shocker", if you will, when a woman does something like this. So of course, the media eats up this sort of story.

Her lawyers are really tripping now. They are saying that she isnt a molester because when they got married he became an adult. WTF. What about before they got married if you could hear some of the nonsense that is coming out. Now his mom comes out for her 5 mins in the spotlight. Where was she what last November/December? Everybody involved including Mr.15 year old hubby needs a good ass whooping.

No time to read it all until I get back. But this woman needs jail & counseling. I don't understand why people are talking to her or asking her dumb questions. Only question should be which jail cell do you want.

Woman, 37, pleads guilty to statutory rape of husband, 15

Wednesday, March 15, 2006; Posted: 5:47 p.m. EST (22:47 GMT)

GAINESVILLE, Georgia (AP) -- A woman who married the 15-year-old friend of one of her sons pleaded guilty Wednesday to statutory rape and was sentenced to nine months in jail.

Lisa Lynnette Clark, 37, was also forbidden to have any contact with her teenage husband -- the alleged father of her 1-month-old son -- until at least his 17th birthday.

After her release, Clark will be on probation until 2010.

Clark was arrested in November on charges of statutory rape, child molestation and enticing a minor.

A few days before her arrest, she married the boy under a 1962 Georgia law that allows children of any age to get married if the bride-to-be is pregnant. Clark gave birth to a boy on February 11.

Clark's lawyer has said the baby is being cared for by "someone else" he would not identify.

The wedding prompted Georgia lawmakers to revisit the state's marriage laws, and last month the House voted to bar teens under 16 from marrying without juvenile court permission. The Senate has not taken up the bill.

The boy's grandmother, Judy Hayles, has said her grandson will seek a divorce and undergo intense counseling.

After Clark's arrest, the boy bolted from a detention center in Georgia and was found in Cleveland. Investigators said Clark contacted him while he was gone.

You beat me too it. If it was one of my boys she would have been begging the courts for a life sentence. I would be like Ma Dear lol I would be waiting for her when she got out. Seriously, I fault the grandma a little too. If the police wouldn't have done anything about it when I called I would have paid her an "friendly" visit to make sure she "understood" that my baby was off limits.
