sheriff's officer charged w/airman's *shooting*

Post by Hmph »

correction: shooting, not death! :whew: damn what I get for reading 3 things at once

good! because that was pretty jacked up and beyond sad. here's a guy on leave from Iraq and is shot, not once but several times while being very cooperative, his hands in the air and saying "please I'm on your side" - he's in security!

Carrion was just riding w/a knucklehead who was pulled over.

but he shouldn't be on paid leave. anyone else who attempts or commits a murder is immediately fired while they're awaiting trial

Calif. deputy to be charged for shooting airman
Incident that followed chase was captured on videotape

Updated: 1:35 p.m. ET March 7, 2006

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - A sheriff’s deputy who was videotaped shooting an unarmed war veteran after a chase will be charged with attempted voluntary manslaughter, authorities said Tuesday.

The decision to charge Deputy Ivory J. Webb, 45, was announced by San Bernardino County District Attorney Michael A. Ramos.

Sheriff Gary Penrod said Webb will remain on paid administrative leave as the investigation into the shooting of Air Force Senior Airman Elio Carrion, 21, continues.

“I respect the decision of the district attorney’s office,” Penrod said.
