on the lower rack just above the heating coils too! then walked off to look for something, came back in less than minute, and stove was smoking with box on fire. thank goodness I was able to toss it in sink and put out fire, but of course the alarm went off with smoke just pouring out of windows, but no fire.

and I'm in my underwear when neighbors comes pushing through the door to make sure all was ok. could have been worse, the entire local ladder would have showed up with me in underwear and hair looking like bride of frankenstein. and probably local news crew too :whew:

and sitting right next to pizza box was aluminum foil! thinking it'll just be 30 secs, no big deal. and yes, no microwave, it's in storage. the murphy's law factor -- bring it, it's already installed in wall, don't bring it, not one is no where to be found. :sigh:

it was also 95++ degrees outside. could have just sat pizza in window and it would have naturally heated up

I smiled at you worrying about your hair. The underwear would be a worry.
Yep, you and I both are dumb____SS__
I put a small hunk of old bagel in microwave to soften it and pressed the one minute button and stood in front of it and day dreamed. I had fire and smoke in front of my nose while I shut the eyes a moment. Worse yet, after airing out the place, I turned around and did it again.
They say the Alhzhimer patients do not know they are heading in that direction. I think in my case its the pain medication that puts me into a sleep while standing up.
And then another time I put a tea bag and cup in the microwave. I forgot the water.
BANG A BROKEN CUP. Dumb  stupid
