Books for conflicted men

Post by Vinnie »

There are a lot of downlow men & men who are not sure how to handle their 'identity'. Here r a few books that can help. To save a lot of people drama n time. People should not be used to work out issues. That's just not right. :xfrown:

Hey Vinnie ...

Even though I don't identify myself as someone on the (downlow), I do however understand why some people chose that option as there way of living. I say that because some people keep their business to themselves for valid reasons. In the discriminating society that we live in, sometimes it's the choice option. When you have someone who sleeps with the same sex or even both sexes in the public eye, it may not be a wise choice for them to air their business to everyone else. In all actuality, it's only the business of that individual and whomever they are bedding. If they are sleeping with both sexes, and they're not in a monogomous relationship .... I believe it is imperative that their partners of both sexes know what their sexuality of choice is.

Personally, I don't really condone the actions of a man who sleeps with both men and women without telling the female that he sleeps with men as well. I t hink it's unfair to the lady. Of course this is something that has developed within me over the years, and with experience in this alternative lifestyle. I see where you said People should not be used to work out issues. I don't think that's necessarily the case with all men who are living alternative lifestyles on the low.

But that's merely "my opinion".

well you're certainly working out your issues on us, that is for sure. :xfrown:

what is the deal w/that avatar? is it something we need to be repeatedly reminded of or something that we need to act accordingly to? are you soliciting other men here?

we had an openly gay guy at Palm. now keep in mind there were probably other gay people before he was employed. he gets hired and set up his desk w/gay pride flags and a pee wee herman doll w/its hand holding his crotch on his desk (which I thought was inappropriate for an office). he wanted the whole world to know he was gay.

but he was hired as a developer. no one could have given two shits about gay or straight, CAN YOU PROGRAM?!!

it's the rudeness of the displays sometimes that turns people off. say someone is in the klan. :kkk: they can't go around sporting their flags or "I Hate Niggers" on clothing, etc. even though it is their lifestyle.

or let me have placed a Malcolm X poster in my office. all hell would have broke loose.

people mostly ignore the gay pride flags and displays but most just ask why does it have to be known? or say "SO?" does the display mean you have more character and integrity than others? because that's all people really care about -- trustworthy and straightforward people in any lifestyle.

like Kim from America's Top Model. more people wanted her to win, not because she was gay, but because she unique, had rare, natural beauty and her personality was friendly, meaning she could be friends w/anyone. her heart also wasn't "vicious" like most non-gay people's are.
