Microsoft's Security Issues and Woes

More and more users are switching to Apple OS/computers given the increase in Microsoft security issues.

However, wouldn't this be an invitation for scammers to just switch their scam and hustles to the Mac OSX platform? However, the Mac OS platform is primarily UNIX based and we don't tend to hear about the same problems on Unix as we do daily with Windows packages, not to mention all the feds warnings about Microsoft flaws.

Personally, I prefer Linux/Unix and Mac and only use PC's to test out stuff for PC users. All those delinquent and unnessary files installed on Windows always worried me 20 years ago. On Unix/Linux/Mac, I know what each file is and what it's for.

well I've always work and used Apple computers....Soon enough i'll get to discover the OSX...

And Windows PC's have security issues we don't have....So i would never switch....

Yeah, all thses security issues are really serious...now I myself, am a Windows person, I always have been. Why? Because I'm a computer gamer, and most PC games don't come out until much later for Mac/Apple or don't come out at all. Besides, I feel that Macs are too simplistic...now Linux, I might be able to like, if I had the time and energy to learn more about it. But for now, I'll just sit behind my firewall and spyware protection and my anti-virus software and wait until the momentum shifts towards Macs/Apples a bit more.

yeah but the Mac's video display/graphics is sweeeet. there's this one game I play just for the graphics. it's Ottomatic -- I have to save these hill-billy farm people before the aliens get them. I get to shoot at giant tomatoes that can squash you, corn cobs that shoot deadly popcorn, fly w/enough energy, float in a bubble over deadly water until I reach land, water ski around an island and then battle blob like creatures which can freeze you to shattering pieces. the blobs grow again after you freeze and shoot them to pieces and don't gather up the pieces for energy.

ok guess you can tell I think it's exciting. but it's hella funny and fun. I do like the water skiing because if you don't ski correctly, you'll run into a ice block and shatter to pieces.

Oh believe me, I already know that Macs beat PC's for graphics stuff hands down. Once the gaming market fully sees that, I may just give up my PC for a Mac...

well do what I do, use Mac, which can run Unix and Windows all on the Mac OS

or set up a PC w/dual boot linux and windows. that way you at least get the best and the "other" platform (windows

) just in case

Dual booting might just be the ticket...that would take alot of work though, not to mention I'd have to learn Linux AND get the OS for it...ughhh...

it's actually not hard at all and the Linux installer has improved greatly. before a lot of things you would have to manually configure or get components for.
but now greatly improved.

and in your lilo (linux loader file, you just have to specify which system is your default system or a command to type to load alternate system -- sweet)

biggest problem is making space for both.

but of course witih mac, you can run all OS's simultaneously. not bad at all. I like the idea of minimizing Windows

but coolest thing about Linux is lots of free and reliable applications, which of course Microsoft would rather you not know about
