I was trying to upload a song to my file manager in my yahoo geocities webspace, and it doesn't allow me to upload a file larger than 5MB. One song is 7.66MB and another is 5.90MB. What can I do to upload this song to the www?

Thanks in advance. If you could forward your reply to imadyme@gmail.com, that would be greatly appreciated.

ps. I hope that wasn't a stupid question.

there is a maximum file size for web uploads. normally its 2MB standard via .php and some web interfaces. you'll have to use a direct FTP program/application to upload the file or check w/the location you're uploading to and find out their maximum upload file size limit.

or try http://www.zippyvideos.com which allows all media types to be uploaded. however it can't be copyrighted material.

format is specific to the site AFTER it accepts the file.

uploading is a whole other issue. first you need to find out the maximum file size allowed to be uploaded via direct browser (HTTP)

if they allow a standalone FTP program that would be best. something like anarchie, fetch, or other FTP shareware tool. which you'll need to know the server name and username and pword because I'm sure it wouldn't support anonymous FTP to a specific user's directory.

and no that's not a stupid question about file uploading. the process varies per method.

yes, but your file manager is specific to your site, doesn't apply to ftp'g to other sites.

there should be built in FTP options w/in your Windows system. I couldn't tell you, I don't dooooo Windows
