oooh ah ah , I have to delete that for several reasons. it's just lashing out vulgar insults, as in reaching for anything to get a rise. and laurie has stated her age on here many of times. so clearly you're not paying attention.

frankly I don't know how all this started, probably a misread on somebody's part and as I recall it started right about the time I stated "reggie ain't nobody" and laurie laughed at my comment only, not you BUT ME being silly.

then the insults towards laurie started and haven't stopped since. and given I know both of you, I don't think it's fair or right because I know Laurie's not vengeful or a person who creates animosity, but she definitely won't sit back like a scared sheep either.

and another thing I have to point out reggie regarding spelling which is how this started tonight: Laurie's first/primary language is French, not English. so mastering english spelling which many americans can't even do isn't a priority.

but I fell out laffing when I was watching the girl in the cafe on HBO (that actually WAS a good movie by the way) and the delegates were saying something about how the french speak perfect english in casual conversation, but the moment the mic hits their face, it's all french and we all have to take it or leave it, even though they know everyone would prefer english for all parties at summit.

but unlike japan which requires at least 10 years of english language lessons, france and other french provinces don't, but instead require french to be learned first.

meanwhile the U.S. is converting to spanish, I feel like I must learn spanish for every place I go to now, including an airport!!!!!

nope not required to learn english. you can call any public place (hospital, utility company, school, government agency, etc.) and there will always be that option to press X for spanish. or it starts off immediately with spanish!!!!!

what burns me about this is there are so many other nationalities here (italian, japanese, chinese, korean, hindu, german, hebrew, etc.) but yet spanish is singled out as the most important one to accommodate. it's like we're saying to other nationalities, learn english (or spanish) or

and until probably recently because louisiana was a french territory, we were required to learn french in school. there are some areas of louisiana where english is still not spoken, but of course it's old french (cajun)

but truth be told germans, italians, asians, etc. all have to know english for basic day-to-day services. there's no special set of language or on-site interpreters for them, unless they're in translator required situation.

when I had to live in the GWB area of manhattan, store owners didn't even bother to speak english AT ALL, and 1 even slipped me a dominican republic coin back as part of my change. I sure the hell walked back to get my american coin! WTF! and I think that's illegal to give me a different currency back.
