A couple of days ago, I was talking to this one friend of mine who I had a chemistry class with last semester, while we were talking, she said that she had to talk with her friend...so I asked about her (the friend) and she introduced us. I smiled at her...and she was almost completely silent, besides a very shallow "Hi". At this point I made a quick exit, recognizing the cold shoulder. This brings me to my first question: What do you think, if anything, was wrong with that scenario? Is there anything that you think I could've done differently to get a better response?
Ok in regards to this one, this could be anything so I wouldn't read too much into it. maybe the friend was involved with someone. maybe she was caught off guard, maybe shy or nervous about how she looked. who knows with this one? but obviously not a connect thing. maybe she's the type to get a clue later (like me... I never understood why certain men hung around or paid extra attention, I just assumed just nice people or were just looking to hang out. and this is because I wasn't allowed to have any boys around because of my father, so some things have to be stated directly as I won't even put a 2nd thought into or read into inuendos)
KingFo1 wrote:My second question is a bit more straightforward...as I may or may not have said before, I am a bit of a hermit, and a bit anti-social...but, once in a rare blue moon I do go out on the occasional 'date' (not really a date but a night with a female friend who I might be considering dating seriously) Now when I try to think of a place to go my mind immediately draws a blank...and I'm always afraid to mention dinner because its so typical nowadays...so my next questioin is: If you were going on a first date with a guy where (besides the obvious dinner folks) would you want them to take you?
a good first date is a place where you can talk and get to know each other. try a coffee house which has a quiet band and/or nice atmosphere to just sit and talk. then move your way into dinner or a movie after you see how it goes. surprisingly simple less complicated dates are the best, well for most normal women (gold diggers do not apply to this situation). when it's summertime, a park with lunch/snacks available is a good place to sit and talk. if she's not trying to get to know you either.... then something is wrong...
it's hard to talk to folks during dinner or a movie. you're too busy focusing on movie, food, restaurant and other folks around, and continual interruptions from others around you, including over soliticitous waiters (which reminds me, a waiter either owes me a date or change from a hefty tip accidentally paid)
and I had a guy talk to me throughout a movie. I wanted to say so badly, "unless your azz is on the screen SHADDUP!!"
