Movies that really sucked AND WHY

Don't just list the movie, tell briefly why it sucked! And don't list movies you haven't seen but heard from others were bad.

And no going off topic please, just stick with the movie list. Because after the list fills, I'm going to send this list off to the some folks in entertainment

Titanic w/Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslett

After all the hoopla, I finally watched this 3 hour catastrophe on cable and must say I was more than disappointed and bored out of my skull.

Why the hell was the band playing as the ship was going down?? Was that just for theatrical purposes, which wasn't entertaining but instead trivialized a disaster.

A serious documentary would have been better , and focusing more on lives lost and their purpose for coming to America. Because after watching this, I didn't think about the lives lost, but about the money spent to make that nonsense.

It was THREE hours too long . I can only sit through interesting movies for hours. Sitting through Malcolm X and Schlinder's List, I didn't even notice the time because I was involved in the characters and forgot I was watching a movie.

A kazillion thumbs down on this one

P.S. And that dayum song just made the agony last longer and longer...

Ok, so having read this book by L. Ron Hubbard on several occasions, I was excited and curious to see how they would attempt to bring it to the silver screen. Well, they didn't. For anyone who hasn't read the book, it's a fantastic story (I think, anyway) that spans roughly 1000 pages and, in a nutshell, invaders from the planet Psychlo wipe out all of humanity on Earth in order to strip the planet of its resources before blowing it to smithereens. However, small bands of humans survived, rise up against the Psychlos and wind up not only defeating the invaders here on Earth, but successfully blow up the Psychlo home planet. One note here - in the book, Psychlos are described (among other things) as being approximately 30 feet tall. The book is considered to be one of the best science fiction books ever written (although, as with such things, that's always up to debate - personally, I loved the book).

Alright - now that a bit of background has been established... this movie absolutely sucked! First off, the movie doesn't even address the first half of the book. Now, some would say that it would have been impossible to include the first part of the book in the movie, but they said the same thing about "Lord of the Rings". The movie characters lacked depth (in stark contrast to the book) which resulted in some of the worst acting I have ever seen. John Travolta should be ashamed at participating in this movie, as should Barry and Forrest. How this movie didn't ruin their careers, I'll never know (especially given that it was made during Travolta's "comeback").

What it turned out to be was basically one special effect after another, leaving no room for character or story development. Even if I hadn't read the book, the plot was so painfully obvious from the get-go, it almost didn't bear watching past the first 10 minutes... however, like a rubber-necker driving past a car wreck on the freeway, I was inexplicably drawn to view the rest of the carnage. I'm glad I read the book first because if I hadn't, I never would have after seeing this movie. I was severely disappointed in the outrageous number of errors and artistic license (if it could be called that) that the director and screenplay writers presented in the film - so much so, in fact, that it barely resembled the original story in the first place (other than the core story - good guy beats bad guy, etc.). I was relieved, when the movie ended, that there weren't more people in the theater, as they would have just gotten in the way when I ran, screaming, up the aisle and out the door. In true South Park fashion, I'm still considering (4 years later) going to Travolta's house and demanding a refund (cuz he should known better!).

well... on this one, even the previews sucked, so never bothered to see battlefield earth, and now glad I didn't. in fact the only reasons I wanted to see it was because of Forrest Whitaker and John Travolta.

These movies lacked any depth, no real camera skills, no plot and really cruddy cinematography. Location decisions were suspect at best and the acting was absolutely horrid!!! I want my money back!!!!!!

Gone With The Wind. I have never liked this movie. I have never liked anything about it. It's long, boring n glamourized the struggles of the slave masters during a sick period in history. Da hell with Scarlett n Rhett. Sorry they didn't burn down w/da house.

New York Minute with Mary Kate and Ashley. and the fact that it's on cable all the dayum time easy to avoid at theaters, now it's taking up quality time for other things which can be shown instead.

the ABC's Donald Trump: Unauthorized movie. it bit the big one. nothing new, nothing juicy. however, I didn't know ivana trump had such low self esteem. but I'll bet she's not worried now about what he does.

and poor marla maples, was it worth it? she got practically nothing in the end.
