I'm sorry, I'm not buying it. and the woman comes forward a year later?? and Bill Cosby even w/out the money can STILL GET IT. he's still an attractive man, I don't see him having to grope anyone for anything.

apparently the young lady may be in need of $$. man, when will any man (or woman) ever be safe from false charges like this so that only real charges can be taken seriously?

Police Probe Allegation Against Bill Cosby

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A female acquaintance of comedian Bill Cosby has made an allegation against him that has prompted a police investigation in Pennsylvania, the entertainer's attorney said Thursday.

Attorney Walter Phillips said he spoke Thursday with authorities in Pennsylvania who told him they have begun an investigation. He would not discuss the specifics of the allegation - which he called "utterly preposterous" - but said it amounts to, at the most, "inappropriate touching."

No charges have been brought against Cosby. Phillips said the accuser, who lives in Canada, knows Cosby and the alleged incident in question happened about a year ago.

Police in Cheltenham Township, Pa., a Philadelphia suburb where Cosby has a home, declined to comment.

"I know the person making the accusation hasn't been contacted by authorities," Phillips said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press from his office in Philadelphia. "We are hopeful and optimistic that no charges will be brought forward."

Dave Selby, a spokesman with the Durham Regional Police in Durham, Ontario, said police had passed on allegations from a woman there to authorities in Pennsylvania but declined to confirm whether they involved Cosby.

Cosby postponed a town hall meeting in Cleveland on Thursday and has postponed three upcoming shows in Florida, his publicist David Brokaw said. Brokaw would not say whether the postponements have anything to do with the recent allegation.

prosecutors decide no charges to be filed. after all that hoopla from this "woman". i'm sure it was a money shakedown. and i don't blame the married person, I blame the other person who along with the whole world knows a famous person is married but continues any type of personal relationship. just WALK away. even if something did happen, just because a married person doesn't have enough respect for their marriage, doesn't mean the other shouldn't have and nipped it in bud at beginning.

Entertainer won't faces charges after groping allegation

(CNN) -- Prosecutors in Pennsylvania said Thursday they plan no criminal charges against Bill Cosby after ending their investigation of a woman's allegations that the entertainer drugged and groped her last year in his home.

In a press release posted on its Web site, Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor said he "finds insufficient, credible and admissible evidence exists upon which any charge against Mr. Cosby could be sustained beyond a reasonable doubt."

Castor began investigating the incident last month after the accuser -- a 31-year-old former Temple University employee -- met with Montgomery County detectives detailing events she said took place in Cosby's Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, home.

The alleged victim, who lives in Ontario, Canada, initially reported the alleged incident on January 13 to police in Durham, Ontario, about 100 miles (160 km) north of Toronto. She alleged that Cosby gave her some medication that made her feel dizzy, then fondled her. She said she later woke up to find her bra undone and her clothes in disarray.

Cosby's attorney, Walter M. Phillips Jr., appearing on CNN last month, called the allegations "utterly preposterous" and "plainly bizarre." He could not be reached for comment Thursday.

Cosby, 67, is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native and Temple University graduate who still maintains a home in the area. Phillips has described Cosby's accuser as an "acquaintance" of the entertainer.

Dolores Troiani, an attorney for the accuser, could not be reached for comment.
Making waves

Cosby has made waves in recent months by accusing African-Americans of tolerating poor parenting, juvenile delinquency and coarse language among themselves.

Cosby made his name as a stand-up comedian with stories about growing up in Philadelphia.

He was the first black man to star in a drama series on American television, winning three Emmys for "I Spy." He voiced several characters on "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" in the 1970s, and later starred in the comedies "The Cosby Show" and "Cosby."

By the time "The Cosby Show" went into syndication in 1987, Cosby was receiving half of the show's profits.

Cosby also has written four books.

In 1988, he and his wife of 41 years, Camille, donated $20 million to Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, the biggest single contribution ever made to a black college.

The actor experienced great personal loss in the late 1990s.

In January 1997, his only son, Ennis, was robbed and murdered on a Los Angeles highway after he stopped to fix a flat tire. A 19-year-old Ukrainian immigrant was convicted of the crime.

The same day Ennis was slain, a Southern California woman named Autumn Jackson alleged that she was Cosby's illegitimate daughter. She and an accomplice had threatened to expose the story to the media unless they received $40 million dollars from Cosby.

Cosby, who acknowledged he had an affair with Jackson's mother and had paid her not to disclose it, denied he was Autumn Jackson's father.

In 2002, President Bush awarded Cosby the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
