What an insane day...

Post by KingFo1 »

Well, today was really, REALLY messed up...I was rushing for work, as usual, and stepped outside. The odd thing was, it was WARM outside, I'm talking like 64 degrees warm! THat alone raised my spirits for what I knew would probably be another crazy day.

Little did I know just HOW crazy the day would become...

It was about 8:40pm, and I was just chillin in will call, waiting for the store to close as usual, and the LIGHTS WENT OUT!! We were all freaked out...not in the "Oh my God I'm so scared" way, but in the "Oh wow what a freaky cool thing that just happened!" kinda way. We spent the rest of our time finding the keys to our tills so we could count our money and go home, the store was closed and everyone was being sent home. As if THAT wasn't strange enough, as luck would have it, the lights came on as I was about to leave!!! So then of course we had to clean up the store like normal before we could leave...and during the day, the temperature dropped to like 20 degrees, and it was damn near a BLIZZARD outside...I swear in the 21 years I've lived in northeast Ohio, I have never, EVER seen such crazy weather in a DAY...and believe me, we get some CRAZY weather.

So all in all, it was a very weird day...glad I'm off tomorrow, theres gonna be alot of cleaning up to do after a power outage like that...lucky it was just the plaza and not my house too!!

Same thing happened down here in Portsmouth - it was gorgeous earlier today (like, 72 degrees)... a little breezy, but very nice. Then about 5 or 6, it just turned nasty - rainin' and blowin' and holy ice chest, Batman, it is COOOOOOLLLLD outside!!! I tried to walk to the car so I could go to the store, but my wannabe Nikes froze to the cobblestones... :sigh:
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today... it's already tomorrow in Australia.

actually, that sounds freaky with the lights off and on and weather. and how were yall supposed to count money in the dark. that's strange. I'd be trying to get home in a power failure, as you just never know.

and strange how the weather is changing daily. and still can't get over snow storm in cali and not much in the north east area.

I won't be surprised if it's 85 tomorrow. :|

Well, there were emergency lights and flashlights, so we could still count our money since we had calculators. I was kinda bummed that the lights came on before I left...but it was cool though, because I had called home and found out that the power outage was strictly in the plaza I was working in.

Edit: The oddest thing is, our store is supposed to have all these battery backups in case something like this happened for our registers, but all the systems were down after it happened because NONE of them worked...

Naaah, I'm talking about at any store in that plaza. Man, criminals are getting creative these days at closing time, after hours or in broad daylight.

they're busting out the walls of banks with trucks after hours
one group held up a post office at closing time -- inside job
a couple of knuckleheads posed as cops and stopped a vehicle loaded with cash -- they knew about the $$ being picked up by owner. but funniest thing was real cops passed by to help out, and fake cops took off but in stolen mercedes pulled over, a mad crazy Heat type chase followed, the stolen Mercedes with money flipped over, and they're in jail. good stuff, good times. who needs cable after all.

gotta be careful in retail man, you gotta go there strapped :shotgun: May I Help You? :shotgun:
