Having suffered a heart attack back in September, Allen had asked prison authorities to let him die if he went into cardiac arrest before his execution, a request prison officials said they would not honor.

"At no point are we not going to value the sanctity of life," said prison spokesman Vernell Crittendon. "We would resuscitate him," then execute him.

Yeah, I got a good laugh at that one. But, unfortunately, that is the way it goes. I always wondered if a condemned person dies of a massive heart attack in their sleep, what would they do then??

yup strange indeed. but if they didn't save him during an illness or injury, some bleeding heart would come along and cry "foul, you didn't save my rapist/murdering husband/boyfriend/son on death row while he was having a heart attack!"

because say when Duncan gets the death penalty and he's injured to near death. how much should be spent saving his sick ass? and how much would I care if I worked there?
