Apparently, you've got a good head on your shoulders because you're in college and focusing on that instead of partying all of the time.........but man, you've got to start LOVING yourself. Who gives a flyin' flip what other people think?????? It really wouldn't hurt for you to go to a party now and then either, as long as you're not doing it 24/7. Afraid to go somewhere where you're not going to know anyone?........create your own fun! Imagine what kinds of underwear everyone is wearing.......I mean get a good visual in your head, and before you know it, you'll be standing there with a great big grin on your face and you will be approached. People don't get approached if they look like they're in miserable pain. Hell, walk up to someone else....strike up a conversation. They ain't going to bite your head off and if they do, that's their problem.....not yours! Next post I see from you, I want you reporting what a GREAT time you had at XYZ event.....and that's an order!

Man, I'm so sorry if that came across harsh at all. You just appear to be someone with sooo much potential. I know you've been burned, but I've just come to accept that THAT is going to happen in life. You've got to learn how to surround your self with QUALITY people and not worry about the QUANTITY of people around you. If you want to be happy, surround yourself with happy people. If you want to be strong, same thing....

most black men his age are only concerned about the next "profound" words out of 50 Cents mouth. here you are, no kids, working more than part-time, and going to school full-time for engineering, not running to jail. and you're not in Iraq running for your life. you don't do drugs, you don't run the streets, you don't hang out with hooochie momma type women nor are you out there playing games on women creating drama for them, which creates problems for you.
you're so much better than most folks out there. I know part of what you're saying, you're trying to meet decent people like yourself. well, chile good luck with that

you know what really really helped me, but funny, it didn't help recently, but I know why: a list of qualities I find most important in people, MUST HAVE qualities that are a deal breaker at the top and at the bottom, desired or wish list qualities.
then compare that to yourself and the people you're hanging out with or dating. there you'll start to see it's not you, it's the circle you're traveling in.
the other part is you're in Cleveland.
j/k Austin, TX is the best place for singles, NYC is good, but you can get isolated if you don't know where to go. and in California, overly agressive women there will jump all over you once you step off a plane because you're employed, single, no kids. but I know there has to be cultural things in Cleveland, like museums, summer series events, etc. Call up LeBron James, find out where he goes.
