The Hardest Cross to Bear

Post by thewiseonecommeth »

I personally am not a very religious person. I do believe in God, however I find relgiion to have too many limitations, too many questions which remain unanswered, too many dogmas, too many rituals which people blindly follow and have no clue of the history of where they started.

When someone asks me what religion I am, I tell them I am the religion of all religions, and no religion. So am I a religious person? Not really, but I am a very spiritual person.

Here is a religious based story though that I felt had some good meaning behind it. Somedays reading this really puts things into perspective. Enjoy:

-----------

CROSS

A young man was at the end of his rope, seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer.

"Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy a cross to bear."

The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room.

Then, open that other door and pick out any cross you wish."

The man was filled with relief and said, "Thank you Lord," and he did as he was told.

Upon entering the other room, he saw many crosses; some so large the tops were not visible. Then, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall.

"I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered. The Lord replied, "My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

When life's problems seem overwhelming, it helps to look around and see what other people are coping with. You may consider yourself far more fortunate than you imagined.

so true, so true. which is why I have no sympathy for folks with free rent, free food, and complaining about problems and hustling and lying to folks daily under a "hazed" and drugged brain.

(ooh dang, I kinda feel like Debbie Downer today :thunder:, time to hang out with the mafia kitty for an attitude adjustment, well, if she lets me :? )
