I am blessed because.....

Maybe the Water Cooler isn't the right place for the topic, but couldn't fit it anywhere else.

I just wanted to take the time to reflect on how blessed I truly am, even on the worst days.

When there's $6 left in my checking account and 5 days left until payday, I am grateful that I will have money again on friday, and grateful that I have a good job.

when my car breaks down, and I have to spend my rainy day money to fix it, I am grateful I have a car...and the stashed cash to fix it.

When I am lonely and sad, I have friends and family that are only a phone call away.

Every Time the lock sticks on the door to my apartment and I have to spend an extra 5 minutes to get it open, I'm grateful that behind that door is my home.

When I have to park a block away and carry a full load of groceries, I'm grateful that I am in good health and can walk on my own two legs.

All these reflections came about because yesterday afternoon my furnace decided to die. This whole week, the weather has been in the low teens with wind chills below zero. It was freezing in my apt. and uncomfortable to sleep. It was just a temporary set back, and should be up and running by the time i get home from work today. But I could not help but think of how many folks have to endure the winter in their homes in the cold, on the streets, and in shelters.

Even if no one reads this post, I still wanted to write out that I am grateful and I am truly blessed. While I may not feel like I have much, there are probably a lot of other folks who dream of having what I do.

and when my big blessing arrives, which I hope will be soon, I will be more than blessed to share w/all those including yourself who helped me stay alive another day and remember my own blessings when things seemed so nightmarish. :cheeze:
