Hey Swantii, I'm actually glad you're still here in the states... I was watching the news this morning and I heard that there was a terrible earthquake in Thialand... I'm glad you and your mom missed that. I know that GOD watched over your family, so everything should be okay when you get home ... but nonetheless, I'm glad you didn't have to experience the scary quake.

I'm quite sure with damage like that phone service/lines will be down for a while, with only limited service available for emergency personnel.
there's probably a shelter set up somewhere where people are going or being taken to. so as soon as they're settled your family will call.
I know the first thing family wants to do is call and make sure all is ok, but that mostly takes away from the last available communication resources for emergency services. like during 9/11, everyone was trying to call in and out of NYC, but circuits were overloaded, and on top of that cellular towers were taken down with the WTC.
best thing to do is wait and pray, and try the Red Cross to see what kind of help can be provided and what they can provide as well.

I hope they are safe and found soon. I still can't believe this happened like this. And with the number of deaths going up, it's like an entire small town disappearing. over 77,000 now missing or dead. but praying as many as possible are found.tuffb*tch wrote:yeah to a certian level im glad i was here but i do have family in phuket where the tsunami hit and we can't get intouch with them... my dad drove there today to go see if they still alive cuz they live right on the beach.. we just all anxiously awaitin news from him and praying.![]()

Man, I was so shocked when I found out about that tsunami and where it hit, and I'm also glad that your still in the states Swantii, cause who knows what would've happened if you weren't. I hope that your relatives are okay. The saddest thing about all this is, that it was an act of nature, something we have almost no control over...and it happened in a place where there was hardly any chance of escaping in time...

YAAAAY!!! glad they made it through it. when I watch the news story I'm just staring like this can't be real, but seeing all those people crying and in shock reminds you how real their pain is.
it is so sad and I wish I could bring them all back, like by switching 1 bad person for them all.
but they're all in prayers and everyone's thoughts.
