hell, i wasn't even allowed to have a phone in my room!! I had to sneak the cordless when i was a teenager, and then, i think even my mom did inventory nightly before she went to bed!!

cordless oh that's right, you're a little bit younger than me. all my momma had to do was follow the wire.

and this was all before call-waiting too. if not for operator emergency calls she'd never get through to her own house. I think that's why call waiting was invented: to help the phone company and mothers w/teenagers out!

I know what you mean. it's just strange all around. at their age I was at roller rinks or hanging out w/friends. and this was in New Orleans where we had exposure to a lot.

I don't know part of it is in the home. maybe some parents are so afraid of being like their parents they're backing off from parenting and letting kids do their own thing.

Hell my mom took the doors off of our rooms after I told my brother had a girl in his room when he was 13 and I was 12. As far as the phone we were lucky or she just got tired of us fighting she got us our own lines when I was 15. No door but we had a Phone. Mama didn't play she had two honor students and she let us know if the books weren't right she would come up to the school and put her foot all up in it.
