Judge gives woman option: Forfeit Green Bay Packers tickets or go to jail

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — It's a choice that could give pause to some Green Bay Packers fans.

A judge ordered an Appleton woman convicted of theft to decide whether to spend 90 days in jail or donate her family's Packers tickets next season to charity.

Sharon E. Rosenthal, 59, took more than $3,000 from labor union accounts before she left the organization, according to a criminal complaint. She withdrew money from the union in order to help pay household bills, according to the complaint

Rosenthal was sentenced Friday in Winnebago County Circuit Court on one felony count of theft.

Judge Scott Woldt offered her the decision to either serve the jail time or donate her family's four seats in the Packers' three-game season package to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The jail time or the ticket donation will occur as part of Rosenthal's overall two-year period of probation.

I guess I'd give up the tix, I'd prefer not to go to jail.

BUT STILL - how did trading tix in lieu of jail time even come into play???

Judges can do basically what they want. She's getting off easy but I'll bet her family is doubly pissed at her. I have too many bills to pay and I have a great job so I'm gonna have to give up the tix. Anyways it's not like GB is gonna amount to anything next year.

Favre is too old and injured not to mention that he's got alot of personal issues going on.

Beagles fans would opt for jail too hon lemme tell ya lol. These rabid idiots out here. I thought I was going to have to go out of town when they went to the superbowl. lol

There are a lot of crazy people in jail. I don't care if they're Laker tickets, Phil and Shaq could come back, I'm still givin' up the tickets. A lot can happen in 90 days.
