is boxing a "sport" or should it be eliminated for safety?

boxer dies after match, who still watches this sport

Post by Hmph »

I personally have never been able to watch any boxing match. I've seen bits and pieces of some of ali's matches and of course seen the infamous mike tyson highlights, but this is one sport I just can't watch.

ironically I admire Ali, Joe Louis, Max Schmelling, Foreman, and Frazier, but just can't get into it.

now after this, wondering who would miss this barbaric sport, that's if you can call a fight to the death a sport. it's almost no different than cock fighting.

Tamra you know how I voted. I think its pretty awful. Of course I could never squash a bug.
But to really sit or stand and watch two men really try to hurt each other, is insane.
Even in fencing, they work the skill of the sport and don't really (now days) aim to kill.
I think some of those boxers would not care if they did wipe out the other guy. :silenced: :silenced:

So how could this world of TV even think of putting on a reality show about boxing.

I mean the point of the game is to knock your opponent OUT COLD. Really healthy
I think wrestling could be called a sport more then boxing. Of course the tv wrestling goes beyond PINing a guy down. I always thought High School wrestling could be consider skillful.

yup definitely high school and collegic wrestling are sports, but most of that WWF stuff is fantasy advocating violence. the rest is entertainment (visualizing The Rock right now :lashes:)

and strange that one of the guys on the sylvester stallone boxing reality show did die but from suicide.

between the life altering injuries and deaths involved, maybe it's time this is cleaned up before we're just watching murders on tv.

No boxing for me. Who in their right mind let's people brainwash them into allowing themselves to get beat to shit or beat the living shit out of someone else for x amount of millions ???
Wherever I go, I play the victim role well. Watch, but don't learn from me.
