8 Liner Operation Raids in Austin

Local and federal authorities confiscated more than 700 8 liner machines Wednesday. As part of operation casino flush, Austin Police, the FBI, and the IRS raided 40 convenience stores and gamerooms around town. Besides 8 liners, authorities also took book-keeping records. Police say this investigation started a year and a half ago and they are looking into one group of people. So far, police have arrested six people for misdemeanor charges, like theft and illegally having lone star cards. Charges relating to the illegal gambling ring are expected soon.
